Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
